It's been 11 days since my last post. I remember I used to blog every day, but it seems like I've been pretty busy with work lately and also, I've been pretty lazy as well. My days have been really repetitive. I get up in the morning, go to work, come home, eat, then go on Facebook, then sleep. This cycles over and over again. So I haven't had much time to have a social life or even write a blog. Well, I guess I could've blogged but I didn't haha.
So, let's talk about work. Last couple weeks has been horrible. I loved working at AMJ Campbell, but what I had to deal with at work for last couple weeks made me change my mind about the job. Mostly, it's the supervisors that makes me really mad. They'd yell at me for no particular reason, and they don't work at all. It's really discouraging when you see them like that when you work your ass off. I had a job to do at Edson last friday, and that's when my frustration level really increased. It took us 20 hours to finish the job because we only had 2 trucks and 6 people, 3 were from Prime, when we needed 1 more truck and 3 more people. We had to make 2 trips, and the best part was that all 3 Prime guys didn't work at all. If there were more people from our company it would've been a a lot shorter shift. I did drive a truck though, so that was good.
Apparently, I was supposed to work the next morning at 7:30. Are you kidding me?! I didn't get home from Edson till about 3:30 am and I'm supposed to work at 7:30?! No thanks. I did sleep in because I was so tired. As soon as I woke up, I called Todd, who is a commercial manager, and he told me that it's not a big deal that I missed my shift and asked me to just have a day off. Awesome, but nope. This didn't really end well.
I go in for work on Monday, and Tim, a household manager, wanted to talk to me. I honestly had no idea what he wanted to talk to me about because I rarely, almost never, talk to him but I did have a bad feeling about it, and I was right. Tim just started yelling at me for not coming in on saturday. There was no way I could've made it through the day even if I came in for work that day. I was told that it was supposed to be a 18000 lb load. That would've taken us at least 10 hours. Ya I'll pass. I'm not a veteran mover yet, so I'm not used to working that late and then come in for work 3 hours later. I was also told that one of the Prime guys from that same job at Edson came in for us the next day too and Tim was telling me how sad it is to see a Prime guy there to do the job and not his employee. First of all, technically, I'm not his employee, I'm Todd's employee. I don't do household unless Todd wants me to. Secondly, I was the driver that day. While I was driving back to the shop, those Prime guys slept all the way. They got 2 more hours of sleep then I did. I swear to god, Tim has no heart at all whatsoever. Douchebag.
The nightmare at AMJ did not end at all. There was a little conflict going on on tuesday between one of the drivers and the supervisor. The supervisor flipped out on one of the drivers because he made a wrong turn and got lost and was almost late for the job. In his defense, he was never given the address to our job site. What the hell, they can't do that. I know it's driver's responsibility to know where they are supposed to go, but isn't the supervisor supposed to tell us where we are going though in the first place? Those two guys were just screaming at each other and I really felt bad for the driver. It's not his fault and he's getting yelled at by the supervisor. Things got really bad at AMJ with supervision. Really bad.
I was late for work for 2 days in a row. Wednesday wasn't so bad. I was only about 5 minutes late. Thursday was really bad though. There was an accident on Yellowhead and I was stuck there for about an hour. Luckily I was only half an hour late to get to the job site and I was with nice supervisor so it wasn't so bad, but I felt terrible. I absolutely hate doing something wrong because it makes me feel so guilty and I really hate it.
Today wasn't so bad but the morning was terrible. I drove one of the trucks again but then they didn't tell me where we are going again. I couldn't follow them either because they were driving so fast. I had to drive a truck with a manual transmission and I'm still really not used to it yet. I got in trouble for getting lost and all that. It is partially my fault but it's their fault too. They never told me nothing and they wouldn't wait up for me to catch up? What kind of supervision is that?
Things changed a lot at work lately. Supervisors do not respect the other workers at all. They joke around too much, they slack off too much, and they yell at the workers too much. I get that it's their job to do that but still, things got to change here. Because, we all are getting frustrated with them, and make us mad all the time. They got to actually change things around. I can't stand it anymore.
I am so tired right now, there's still a lot more to talk about all the things that's been happening in last 11 days but I'm going to call it a day and go to bed now. I'll finish this up tomorrow.
